Adrian Padilla, Was born in Michoacan Mexico. self taught artist always interested in social justice, music, painting, poetry and graphic arts. he is always looking to create an impact that interrupts our daily routine.
As printmaking artist Adrian has participated in many diverse projects, as part of collectives focused on social justice, community organizing, his voice found a style in the anti establishment. the critic of Neoliberalism, inequality as a serious problem in our society are just some of his interests. His chosen outlet of expression was found in the printmaking world. These days he give workshops in a Printmaking shop call “Los agachados” in Morelia city.

La gráfica de tradición popular, necesitaba un giro para alejarse de su folklorismo y de esa nostalgia por “el México que se fue” que tanto la caracteriza. En estos primeros veinte años del siglo XXI ha habido un resurgimiento del grabado en todo México, mostrando un abanico de nuevas posibilidades (tanto gráficas como expresivas) para darle una nueva vida a la profesión del grabador (casi extinta a manos de las nuevas tecnologías y la sobriedad del diseño corporativo).

The Mexican traditional printmaking that was popular in the last century., needed a good actualization to separate it self from their folklore and nostalgia for that “Mexico that is gone” that became it default signature. in the last two decades of the XXI century. Has been an undergoing revival of printmaking in Mexico as way of expression. A very large trend of new possibilities (graphic and free speech) has giving a new life to those who practice this discipline of the visual arts.
Proyecto Punktum
En ese sentido, el Proyecto es siempre un grito:
desesperado, aguerrido, de nostalgia, catártico o con ansias de liberación; una carcajada fuerte, hilarante, irónica o hasta cínica. Podemos situarla -sin temor a equivocarnos- en el nuevo estridentismo, porque no sabe de silencios o de mesuras, todo en él, es una exageración, voluptuosidad, incisiones con cara de martillazo, altos contrastes, pasar de lo trágico a lo cómico, de lo sufrido a lo estoico, de lo bofo a lo erótico, del problema irremediable al remedio infalible. Es una manera de vivir, un sujetar fuerte, un grabar recio, de trazar tendido, manos callosas, un beso largo y baboso.
Incluso su identidad es un exagerado escape, un alejarse del caramelo Yoíco, de las reivindicaciones narcisistas o de la materialidad de su rostro.
Es bien sabido que hasta el quejante de su queja goza, pero en esta ocasión no se trata de una queja sin resolución, ni de los placeres de ser siempre la víctima; porque entre líneas bien se puede ver que Adrián Caballero también sabe ser héroe del absurdo.
Búsquenlo en todas las esquinas, que en todas las paredes van a entender su firma, que nunca le perteneció.
